New Year’s Call to Prayer 2023: I’m thankful for the opportunity we have at the beginning of every new year for a special call to prayer. It’s spiritually refreshing to come out of the celebratory season of Advent, and enter into a time of heart searching. We intentionally humble ourselves before God. (James 4:10) So it’s been a powerful week of seeking God personally and with corporate prayer and fasting at Harvest Time Church. “God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for Him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. “(Matt 5:3)
Setting aside this time at the start of 2023, we freshly dedicate ourselves to God in the secret place for His perfect will and purpose. Our prayer: for Jesus’ Kingdom to be advanced through our lives and ministries, and for revival for our nation and the world. Asking Jesus to save souls, and for prodigals to “come home”; we believe and pray for healing and restoration for God’s people. Throughout history God’s mission on earth to win mankind is so compelling; but most of all how amazing to see His heart of mercy toward us, and that His desire is to restore and fulfill His promises for His people.
The prophet Joel declared this: “Rejoice, you people of Jerusalem! Rejoice in the LORD your God! For the rain He sends demonstrates His faithfulness. Once more the autumn rains will come, as well as the rains of spring. The threshing floors will again be piled high with grain, and the presses will overflow with new wine and olive oil.“ (Joel 2: 23-24)
Lord Jesus, cause your Holy Spirit Rain to fall upon Your people, and fill us with Your Word, revelation understanding, and empowerment to obey and carry out the Great Commission! Jesus taught His disciples to press into knowing and obeying Him, and depending on their personal relationship with Him rather than outward forms of godliness.
“Jesus taught: “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the wine would burst the wineskins, and the wine and the skins would both be lost. New wine calls for new wineskins.” (Mark 2:22) I am grateful for the blessings and testimony of what God has done in my life in the past, but today in 2023 I am hungering for more of Jesus, the New Wine. “Lord let me keep changing and flourish doing Your will, that I may be a new wineskin You can fill fresh each day for Your glory! “
